What We Do

Greenough Consulting Group (GCG) provides experienced interim management services in the financial, administration and human resource fields. GCG specializes in:

  • Facilitating the accelerated development of companies undergoing rapid change—from incubator through post-IPO.
  • The management of financial and administrative matters for private equity firms.
  • Leading corporate buy/sell transactions.
  • Orderly winddowns or liquidations.

GCG provides a cost effective solution for companies that do not require a full time financial professional or are in a transitional stage. We have developed a specific methodology to streamline basic financial functions by the use of standardized procedures, reports and planning models. Our methodology ensures smooth transitions for client companies from stage to stage and through major transactions, leaving management teams more time to focus on their core business.

GCG contracts with domestic and international clients who are primarily venture-backed in both short- and long-term projects. We are normally engaged through the venture capital community and the entrepreneurs, accountants, lawyers and bankers who service them.

Typical Engagements

  • Technical founders require business management to guide their company through the venture capital financing process and establishment of the financial function, including recruiting permanent staff.
  • A venture-backed company requires completion of prior years' financials and due diligence materials in preparation for a merger or investor round.
  • A venture capital firm requires a part-time CFO to manage the back office and assist with its portfolio companies.
  • A technology company has been forced to dramatically scale back operations to conserve cash and needs a part-time CFO to manage cash spending and consolidate operations.
  • A public company has significant SEC reporting requirements but does not have the staff to handle the peak load.
