David Jaques
Senior Consultant, CFO
David has more than 20 years of experience working in private equity, leading financial institutions, and as a consultant.
Prior to joining GCG, David was the CFO for Bluerun Ventures where he created the financial and administrative infrastructure for a venture capital partnership that increased investment from $150 million to $1 billion in six years.
As CFO at PayPal, David established budget planning, financial processes, procedures and accounting records, and coordinated three rounds of private equity financing totaling $140 million.
He also coordinated the merger of PayPal, Inc. with X.com Corporation resulting in $680 million valuation. David was also Senior VP at Silicon Valley Bank, and held various positions of increasing responsibility at Barclays Bank PLC.
Some of David’s accomplishments include:
- Banking – as Treasurer, implemented internal policies, procedures and controls for a bank holding company and its subsidiaries with total assets in excess of $4 billion; managed an investment portfolio of $1 billion of fixed income securities and acted as Chairman of the Asset/Liability Committee.
- Startup Company – created financial infrastructure for rapidly growing internet startup company; raised capital of $140 million; led the merger of two companies resulting in a combined entity of 500 employees.
- Private Equity – served as CFO for a global venture capital firm with over $1 billion under management. Established funds, general partner entities and management companies with operations in the UK, Finland, Israel, China, Korea, Japan and India.
David has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration from Polytechnic of the South Bank, London, England. He is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers (United Kingdom) and a member of the Association of Financial Professionals.
